Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory
The Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory located in Fitzpatrick Hall currently houses an IBM RS6000-590 with 1GB RAM and 8GB hard disc and an IBM RS6000-580 with 128MB RAM and 3GB hard disc. In addition, the CFD laboratory has two DEC workstations, a number of personal computers and a laser printer. All computers are networked with Ethernet. The laboratory also has access to NASA supercomputers. The research conducted in this laboratory focuses on unsteady aerodynamics, hydro- and aeroacoustics and unsteady flows. The CFD laboratory has developed a number of unique codes in the fields of unsteady aerodynamics and hydro- and aeroacoustics under sponsorship of NASA, the Office of Naval Research, and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research.
