Today, researchers in the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department are achieving breakthroughs in biomedical engineering, biomaterials, biomechanics and orthopaedics.

The new Multidisciplinary Research Building, which opened in June of 2006, is the new home for faculty, students, and the Biomechanics and Biomaterials Laboratory, a Biomechanics and Orthopaedics Laboratory, a Biological Materials Laboratory, and a Nano Characterization and Tribology Laboratory.
