GMiS Class of 2016 HENAAC Scholars

Great Minds in STEM recently announced its Class of 2016 HENAAC Scholars, awarding over  $450,000 to 146 STEM college students across the country. One of those scholars is Katherine Ramos, a doctoral student working with Dr. Karel Matouš in the Center for Shock Wave-processing of Advanced Reactive Materials in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering. Ms. Ramos was awarded a  $10,000 Intel Foundation Scholarship.

In addition to the scholarship, Ms. Ramos' award provided travel costs, registration fees and hotel accommodations for her attendance at the 28th HENAAC Conference in Anaheim, California, held this past October 5 through 9, 2016.
