Shivam Barwey

Assistant Professor, Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering
Areas of Interest
Professor Barwey’s group focuses on AI-driven discovery and acceleration in computational science, with an emphasis on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations – particularly for reacting flows relevant to next-generation power and propulsion systems. They pursue two primary directions: (1) developing exploration-based AI methods that reliably automate the entire computational science workflow; and (2) developing improved numerical models for fluid dynamics rooted in data-driven methods and scientific machine learning. Across these areas, they rely extensively on GPU-based supercomputing and place emphasis on developing algorithms designed to exploit extreme scales in both data and computation.
